All is set for Breathtaking Uganda, ministry of tourism, Miss Uganda, Several Travel enthusiasts to explore Pian Upe, Lokichar Game Reserves

Breathtaking Uganda, a promotional tour organization in conjunction with several travel enthusiasts, ministry of tourism and miss Uganda are set to explore Pian Upe and Lokichar Game Reserves and  Moroto Area In Karamoja Region.

On Thursday 16th November 2023, the State minister for tourism, wildlife, and antiquities Hon. Martin Mugarra Bahinduka in conjunction with Miss Uganda Foundation and Breathtaking Uganda  launched the Pian Upe and Lokichar Wildlife reserves tour in Karamoja region.

The four day tour shall run from the departure date of Thursday 30th November to return date on Sunday, 3rd December 2023.

The delegation will set off from Kampala, meeting and flag off at the Uganda Museum in the morning.

Details of the proposed route to Pian Upe, Moroto and Lokichar Game Reserves.

Besides tourism, the Honourable Minister and the beauty queens will engage in some charity activities with special reference to the community near Pian Upe headquarters, “The Karamoja Children’s Charity, a charity”.

The charity aims at supporting girls rescued from forced marriages who will be engaged with a drive that will mobilise support towards their school fees, scholastic materials, sanitary pads, panties, soap among other items.

At the end of the charity, Miss Uganda and Tourism beauty queens will give motivational talks to the affected girls on issues of mental health, menstrual hygiene and encourage these young girls to desist from teenage and early/childhood marriages.

Cultural and wildlife immersion

The participants on the tour will immerse into the Karimojong traditions, lifestyle and way of life by eating authentic Karimojong based meals, drink, dressing in their cultural dressings, listening to Karimojong folksongs and tales and participating in their dances, Rare, exciting sightings.

Pian Upe and Lokichar wildlife reserves offer some of the rarest opportunities to see game like cheetahs, ostriches, roan antelopes among many other animals plus the unique flora, fauna and breathtaking landscapes patent to these reserves and this region in Uganda. Notably,  travellers will also visit the famous Napedet cave in Pian.

Draft Itinerary

Before travelling to Pian Upe and Lokichar Game Reserves, there shall be a Kampala meet and greet

On Tuesday 28th at 4LS Lounge in Bukoto starting 5pm onwards. Miss Uganda, Miss Tourism and several travel enthusiasts led by the Hon. Minister Martin Bahinduka will meet at 4LS lounge to get to know each other better

Ugandan artist Zex Bilangilangi, Mith, Chef Gonahasa and producer Washington will record in real time a song here meant to promote Pian Upe game reserve and put it on the global map making it go viral instantly.

The group will leave Kampala on Thursday 30th November, 2023 (Travel from Kampala through Jinja, Mbale, Muyembe up to Pian Upe)

The set off time from Kampala is 7am, meeting and flag off point being Uganda Museum or Shell Lugogo tentatively but to be super confirmed soon.

Drive with stopovers in Jinja at Shell Amber Court and Java House for a health and refreshments break 1-2pm have a lunch stopover at Wash and Wills Hotel in Mbale City.

After lunch around 3pm we will then drive straight to Pian Upe headquarters through Mbale,

Muyembe and check into Karamoja Overland Camp and Pian Upe UWA bandas in Pian Upe game reserve arriving between 5 and 6pm.
